Hi

I read about this new AutoInstaller on WHT and i found it great. Especially you find it it is FREE!!!

I installed it on 2 of my servers. On one server, i am running a personal site with username "su******"

But in Softaculous, it shows as  "su******.M1ScussBtpoeR6uJ7wSYPX6FQriyLdfP" There is addition of ".M1ScussBtpoeR6uJ7wSYPX6FQriyLdfP"

Dont know what is wrong since all installations fail  :squi:

Sir if you see a test.php file that is default by cPanel:
http://www.su***********.com:2082/frontend/x3/test.php
It shows the username as su******.M1ScussBtpoeR6uJ7wSYPX6FQriyLdfP

It means your username is su******.M1ScussBtpoeR6uJ7wSYPX6FQriyLdfP
Please update and change your username to only su****** in WHM

It is username "su*****" only

You have the Login details right and you can see it is only "su******"

I indeed changed the Username, back and forth before opening a thread here. Without any luck though.

One more thing, cPanel doesnt even allow Username longer than "8 characters"

You see the test.php file.
Its a default file when cPanel is installed.
Its shows the long username as your username.
We will consult cPanel on this issue

Ok, but i am not sure as how that is possible either since

1. You have the Login details and it is only su****
2. cPanel Username cannot be longer than 8character

The Installatron i have on that server seems to be working. Maybe you can find a alternate way of doing Installations or getting username ?

Cpanel Support Team has said that:

This is a known issue.  Are your transfers still in need of completion at this point?  If the accounts were moved over you should simply be able to manually alter the USER= field within the /var/cpanel/user/* files and then run /scripts/updateuserdomains to remedy the problem.

Well this is a problem with the linux user files.
Since you have migrated from Direct Admin it has caused this problem.
But the cPanel guys said they had fixed the issue.
I suggest you open a ticket with cPanel.

Here is the fix from cPanel from DirectAdmin problem which is FIXED now though but useful for users who migrated when the script was bugged.

Run from shell
cd /var/cpanel/users
sed -i.bak -e 's/\.................................//g' *
