I'm not sure how amupdate works, but when I run it from the launchpad on my mac it only shows an error message (see attachment).

I would rather download a fresh build again and install it manually, but even if there's a fix for this crash there's no really a reason to have an update icon hanging around together with other application icons in os x launchpad.

Suggestions:
-remove amupdate from launchpad
-make amupdate in launchpad optional
-write up an FAQ entry about how to remove amupdate from launchpad
-make sure amupdate doesn't put itseld back in launchpad after every update

1) Below is the full error report.

2) The real issue for me is the Amupdate link in launchpad. As much as I like AMPPS I like to have my working environment under control and would really appreciate a step-by-step guide about how to remove the Amupdate link from launchpad.

I have the exact same problem, the app Amupdate is crashing on my brand-new Macbook Pro Retina 15" late 2013 2.6Ghz running the latest version of Mavericks..

Is there something more to it? or should it just launch an updater for the Ampps stack?
