 WebServer response time is too slow (6 Replies, Read 6074 times)

I am running Apache, PHP + MYSQl for local development and it is ridiculous slow to load. It is way slower than a Linode 2GB VPS setup.

Are there tips/tricks to boost/improve the local server ?

Hello, I will talk about my situation if I may.

Everytime I want to refresh a page, it takes 5-8 seconds to load. I am on Windows 7.

I appreciate the quick answer, but found out that changing the hostname in the connection string from "localhost" to 127.0.0.1 solved the problem entirely.

I suggest to people to people having the same problem to first try this solution.

Google Chrome seems to work well after i put
127.0.0.1 localhost
back in the host file.

it is disastrous for IE9 which always lock up the whole localhost server. On form submit, the page is submitting and it keeps doing that non-stop. I have to restart the server or stop the IE9 loading.

Same page, same form submission, Google Chrome works perfect.

Nguyendh,

Putting "127.0.0.1 localhost" in the hosts file did not change anything for me (I am using chrome). Changing the value in the mysql db connection string was my last resort.
