Hi All
I have pro 2 instances of webuzo, one VPS and one Dedicated server.

what I would like to do is move a site from the VPS to the Dedicated, this includes the domain and all files.

I have tried from the scripts import link, the files have been installed but when I go to the domain all I get is "Default Website Page"

I even imported the database with the same user and password, but to no avail :-(

I am sure I saw a tutorial on this but cant fine it now :-(

Hi,

You can either use our Remote Import utility to move a site from your VPS to the Dedicated server. This utility shall import all the site related files and its database. You can refer to our guide here for the same:
http://softaculous.com/docs/Remote_Import

You also take a backup of the Website from your VPS server and restore it on your Dedicated server. For this you can refer to our guide here:
http://softaculous.com/docs/How_to_Restore_a_Backup_on_a_New_Server

When you import from our utility you do not need to import the database separately. Our utility does import the files as well as the database together.

In regards to the domain showing "Webuzo Default Website Page", can you please open a support ticket here with root details of both your VPS as well as dedicated server, so that we can look into your issue:

It seems this will only work with certain scripts, the option does not show for the script I wanted to import (Chevereto Free) I have managed to import it manually now..

I tried this, but the scripts dont show in "Backups and Restore" page, is there anything I need to make them show?

Hi,

It seems that your are trying to import a script which is not provided by Softaculous. Since this script is not provided by Softaculous, you shall neither be able to use the import utility nor the restore backup utility in Webuzo.

You will have to manually create tar of the files of your website and export - import your database to the new server.

We regret for the inconvenience caused to you.

So I figured this out, to move a script to another server they both need to have the same username.

I found away around this by going into the downloaded backup on your PC, you need to open the backup with a zip archive program, I used 7zip because you can edit the files inside and save the tar.gz file.

find the file (which in my case the script was "paste.304_45684.2017-07-25_10-08-14" ) inside this file find the username for your old server and change that to the new server username, there should be 2 instances of the username.. change both these to the new server username.

upload the file to /home/username/softaculous_backups then in webuzo user panel goto "Backups and Restore" you should see you backup there, click restore, you should be good to go.

Hope this help someone

Hi lesmond,

Thanks for posting a Work around solution.

But generally it' s not recommended to change the files as you can make a mistake at any step and cause the backups to be corrupted.

Hope you follow the rules in future :)
