So, lets get this out of the way first. Im extreamly new to ampps. After installing for the first time i realised that as they all do, this listens to port 80. And as most of us would have noticed on the first installation, it would immediately clash with Skype (thanks skype), due to skype using 80 by default.

So, my question is, how do i go about changing the default port of ampps to anything other than 80 (please don't suggest changing skype ports, as this is not the actual question, and its not a valid solution for me)? I can jump into the apache configs and change the listening port to 8888 or something other than 80, but what else would i then need to worry about? What are other dependencies for the port? Again, im new to ampps so im not sure what chaos would occur when i do this (thus asking ahead of time about what to expect and what to look out for, and what wont work).

Also, as far as im aware, you guys are working on adding a way to change default port. Is there any rough ETA on this at all?

PS. reason fro not changing Skype ports. Skype is silly, if you change your default ports, and you are talking to someone else that also have changed the default ports, it will not always sync properly. This means, most of the time messages will arrive immediately, but sometimes, a message might take minutes or even hours before arriving at the destination.

Thanks in advance :)

Button for Localhost, AMPPS Home, AMPPS Admin on AMPPS Application won't work. They open on port 80. Similarly phpMyAdmin, RockMongo, etc in AMPPS Enduser Panel won't open.

VirtualHosts created by AMPPS also uses port 80. Domain's wont work.

And the main reason is the scripts installed, you won't be able to access them too if the port is changed. Softaculous is an auto-installer which is an addon in AMPPS, so nothing can be done unless they provide port flexibility in Softaculous.

Sorry we don't have any ETA as of now. Like I said AMPPS is dependent on Softaculous.
