Hello again Erick,

I just wanted to let you know that I now know why I was having localhost connection problems with my web server, as well as with the App Store.

As it turns out, there is some kind of incompatibility between Little Snitch and El Capitan DP8 and newer. In other words, including the El Capitan Golden Master and the 10.11.1 beta as well.

For some reason, Little Snitch is breaking localhost connections which rely on the 127.0.0.1 loopback.

In short, if you have Little Snitch 3.6.0 Nightly (4350) installed -- and possibly earlier versions -- and LS's network filter enabled, it will break all localhost connections in El Capitan DP8, Golden Master and 10.11.1.

I experienced this with both MAMP PRO and with AMPPS. In fact, this problem may even affect OS X's built-in Apache web server as well, because all three rely on the 127.0.0.1/localhost connections.

This problem has been confirmed by Objective Development -- the developers of Little Snitch -- and they are currently working on fixing it. You can learn more about it in their Little Snitch forum.
