 Update notifications for deleted domains (9 Replies, Read 2764 times)

I am receiving Magento Update notifications for old accounts where the domain no longer exists. Does anyone know how I can stop these as I obviously cannot access Admin or Cpanel for these accoutns?

Hi,

It seems that your hosting account was not terminated properly. You will have to contact your hosting provider to cancel your account.

Please let us know if you need any further information.

You mean that I have to have Softaculous installed to tell you that I don't have Softaculous installed any more?

That is wrong, wrong, wrong, and you need to fix it.

(I, too, want the emails to stop.)

Totally agree. It 's crazy. I am the Hosting provider I don't want to cancel the whole Softaculous account as I have many domains/clients on it. I just don't get how if a domain is no longer registered how can Softaculous be sending me reminders about it

Hi,

The installation records maintained by Softaculous are stored at the following path :
/home/USERNAME/.softaculous/installations.php

It looks like this file exists and it has the entry that the installation exists. This can happen if the user has not uninstalled the script via Softaculous and simply deleted the files manually.

Or if the user has terminated the services and the above directory still exists.

If the user account is terminated properly the above directory should not exist.

You can delete the above file to delete the records of the installation for that user.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have checked and the directory for the account in question does not exist. The account was deleted correctly in WHM a couple of years ago consequently nothing exists for that account. Could the file be anywhere else?

This is very strange because this is the only directory from where we read the user's data.

Is it possible for you to open a support ticket with us with access details and we will check this asap :

I cannot open that location.  It may be that I don't know what you mean by "home" or even "username" for that matter, but I tried two different homes and three different usernames and all of them 404ed.
