When I access configuration and log files from Control Center, they opens in MS Notepad regardless of my Windows settings for file associations. Is there a way of telling AMPPS to open those files in my favourite text editor?

Hi,

Go to path/to/Ampps/apache/logs

For Apache Log File: right click on error logs, open with -> choose default program -> your_program

similarly you can do this for access log

For MySQL: go to path/to/Ampps/mysql/data/pc_name.err, do the same thing as apache.

Done that. As said: "...regardless of my Windows settings for file associations"

This is only a problem when I access those files from Softacolous AMMPS gui application. (Ammps.exe)
I'm sorry I may have caused some confusion when I wrote Control Center.

Hi,
No, you cannot select your favorite editor, it will open only in MS Notepad. As notepad is common in all Windows PC.

Let us know if you need any further information.

I have the same problem under Mac OSX. Why don't you use the default application? I change my webserver config quite often and the normal Notepad/TextEdit editors are a pain in the butt...
If you use the defaul application of OSX/Windows you don't have to worry about the editor.

regards, Dave

Hi!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but... is it now possible to use the default editor in AMPPS on Mac Os X, rather than TextEdit? I edit the configurations files quite often, and it takes me more time to do so using the basic TextEdit app.

Thank you!
Best wishes,
Guido
