Hi guys, what's the correct approach here... a custom wordpress package or a custom plugin?

https://www.softaculous.com/docs/Adding_Plugins

In which case should we be using a package vs a plugin?

We have a WordPress plugin that we need to show up under WordPress one click installation plugin list....

Hi,

You can use adding plugins if you just want to add a plugin because in this scenario you will not need to maintain the updates for custom WordPress package and the updates for WordPress package in Softaculous will work for you.

If you create a custom WordPress package you will need to manually update the package when there is a new version of WordPress.

Custom WordPress package is recommended if you want to highly modify the package i.e. install plugins/themes add some content, etc
