I'm trying to install Magento2 using Softaculous on a CWP vps installation.
Magento2 had some requirements ie. needing php-intl, and MySQL 5.6, so I recompiled php with php-intl, and upgraded MySQL from 5.1 to 5.6.

But now, when I try to install Magento 2, it will try to download files and install, but finally fails saying: "The MySQL Connection could not be established."

It seams that the same problem appears if I try other packages.

I have tried to reset the mysql roor password, using cwp reset script, but sadly that didn't help.

What can I do to make it work?
