Hi,

I have installed Exim and Dovecot. At first, I was able to receive emails but not send due to 550 relay not permitted error. I was able to resolve it. So now, I am able to send emails using Squirrelmail and Roundcube.  Now I was trying to configure Outlook/Gmail to be able to receive and send emails. I successfully configured POP/IMAP and it is working fine, but couldn't get SMTP working.

I get "Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server." on Outlook and "We are having trouble authenticating with your other mail service. Please try a different port or connection option. If you continue to experience difficulties, please contact your other email provider for further instructions." on Gmail.

Port - 25
Encryption - None

Please help.

Already tried, not working.

As I mentioned earlier, IMAP/POP is working so I am getting mails to gmail.

Same as first link. Already tried.

I am using LEMP stack on Ubuntu 14.04. This fix is for CentOS 6.x.

Do you have any services running on PORT 25 ?

You can check it with the help of the following command

Root > lsof -i :25

Set a Fully Qualified Domain Name pointing to your server as the hostname.

Reboot your server for once and confirm the hostname changed.
Restart all of the services.

Hope it helps.

One thing I will like to clear is that 180.215.209.252 is client's IP address, not my server's IP address. I have already set FQDN as hostname.

Sir do you have a Firewall blocking the ports ?
Did you edit the exim configurations in any way ?

I removed all the firewalls just for this only. I had configured exim using wizard. Didn't edit the files manually.

One strange thing, my SMTP has started working on Thunderbird but is not working on Gmail with same settings. :??:

Seems to be a strange behavior on your server,
