I have followed the suggestions in the different post and still cannot get apache to start up.  I cannot find any program using port 80.  I changed the port to 8080 still does not start up.  When I run httpd from the bin directory nothing is returned.

I found the source of my issue.  I am using Windows7 64 bit.  The security on my PC is locked down to help prevent viruses and such.  So you cannot write to the root C: partition.  When Ampps is installed in the default location (C:\) Apache wants to write log files in the C:\ directory.  Installing in a different drive fixed the issue.

Thanks for the reply.
