<![CDATA[Is it possible to modify Apache's virtualhost "template"?]]> http://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=7971&tpg=1#p27700 If anyone else is looking to do the same, I have now moved to using http://www.uwamp.com/en/ instead. Whilst it doesn't have the slick features of AMPPS it does allow me to use xip.io which is more important for multi-device testing.

If the AMPPS devs bring in the (simple) feature to allow us to configure our own virtualhosts, I'll move back. Until then, I'm very happy with uwamp

<![CDATA[Password Sanitization Bug]]> http://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=8031&tpg=1#p27691
Version AMPS 3.3 - built june 17 2015
OS X 10.10.5 (14F27)

I was having trouble securing AMPPS with a password - I read through the help topic, and the bug reports listed here on the forum and got it working no problem - but I was still confused as to why my password wasn't working - I would be able to connect to MYSQL.

The problem was with the password in the end - my password contained the '&' (ampersand) charachter - and when I used this charachter - I had to then change the password to login to AMPPS control web panel to &

for example if my password that I entered was
this&that
the password got changed to
this&that

I think this might be a problem with the way text-fields are sanitized (??) or how characters are saved in the MYSQL database, or where ever they are saved, when saving login details.

I hope this makes sense.

<![CDATA[Ampps not starting]]> http://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=8027&tpg=1#p27686
I installed ampps intending to develop a wordpress.org website offline for my brother-in-law's business. After the initial installation I faced port 80 problems. I fixed that. Then I closed the ampps application to go to bed.

Came back the next day and tried to start ampps by double clicking on the desktop shortcut...nothing. The dashboard with the different tabs never appeared. I tried it again by going to start->all programs->ampps->clicking on ampps icon. Nothing.

I did my best to uninstall (not sure if I completely removed everything in this uninstall but did it through control panel->programs and features->ampps 3.3->uninstall) and reinstall ampps. I clicked finish on the installer with the checkbox to "start ampps after install finish" checked. Nothing. Please help! I really want to get going on my project!]]>
