Hi,

I've installed phpbb3 on AMPPS on my local machine.

By having an internet connection running in the background, everything works fine and I get a proper connection to my local MySQL database on localhost - Yippee :-)

BUT by closing the internet connection, I'm getting an 2002 " the local server's socket is not correctly configured " :-(

It seems, that ' localhost ' could not be resolved if the machine has no internet connection.

I've tried to change in the config.inc.php

from line
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = 'localhost';

to line
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = '127.0.0.1';

but still no MySQL connection to localhost while being offline. (Note: reconnecting the machine to the internet the SQL connection to localhost works fine, hmm ... )

PLS help - THX

Hi,

Do you face the same issue with any other script or just phpBB ?

Can you try installing WordPress and see if you still face the same issue ?

Hi Brijesh,

uupps, seems I've chosen the wrong forum, because my question belongs to ' AMPPS ' and not to the  'Softaculous Auto Installer '.

Anyway - I've installed phpBB on my local machine by myself using the ' install.php ' and not an Auto Installer.

I get into the issue by calling the startpage of phpBB.

When there is no internet connection, I'm getting the ' 2002 - the local server's socket is not correctly configured '. But by reconnection my local machine to the internet everthing works fine.
