I was curious how hard it would be to secure the AMPPS I installed using Softaculous so that I could host it on a server at home but have it accessible by the public, or by a small group from the Internet.

I would like to have a server for family and friends to start with, might possibly open it publicly later.  I know Softaculous sets everything up for local access, for local production use.  And I read or saw a youtube video about it where the author said it wouldn't be secure for exposure to the Internet.

So, I was just wondering how hard it would be to secure it for access from the Internet? Fairly easy to do? Or better to go about it some other way?  Thanks

Hi,

Yes. It isn't very secure as url's of phpmyadmin, enduser/admin panel are known to user. You can secure by keeping a password or may be your own configuration to secure your server.

We haven't tried to make it public yet, may be other users can help you better with this.
