 Apache stopped working. How to upgrade from free 2.1 to free 2.2? (3 Replies, Read 1920 times)

I have AMPPS 2.1 on a Mac.

My Apache stopped working. When I run AMPPS, and then click on the start button for Apache, it doesn't turn on.

I'm thinking I'll just upgrade to 2.2.

Is there some way to do this so that my existing files (mostly HTML and PHP and Javascript files inside the AMPPS file folders) can be preserved? What are my options here?

Hi,

First Take a backup of :

1. /Applications/AMPPS/www
2. /Applications/AMPPS/conf
3. /Applications/AMPPS/var
4. /Applications/AMPPS/private

And all the necessary files created by you. Like Domain folders, etc.

Stop all the services/servers and replace new installation with the existing one.

  Take a backup

  • /Applications/AMPPS/conf : Configuration files of Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc are stored here
  • /Applications/AMPPS/var : MySQL Database Folder
  • /Applications/AMPPS/private : Used by Softaculous Ampps for storing installation details.
  • /Applications/AMPPS/www : Public HTML (Document Root)
  • /Applications/AMPPS/ampps/data : AMPPS Data (required for AMPPS only)
  Follow these steps:
  • AMPPS Application gives a pop up when an update is available. Follow the steps to update.
  • If you have kept auto-update of Ampps disabled, then go to AMPPS Application -> Help -> Upgrade
