Hi!,

I subscribed to your installer yesterday, and as a first time user, i found it a bit challenging to setup, and the support was lacking - email and documented support.

First, since gcc is a requirement maybe you can add a check if gcc exists and if not install it properly using the right install code. Initially when I got your support email to install gcc, I just made a "apt-get install gcc", it didnt work, so I had to play around to find the right combination of gcc installs and finally i found "apt-get install gcc build-essential " to work.

After installing softaculous successfully, there was a problem with connection to the database. Whenever I tried to install any script I got this error: The MySQL Connection could not be established.

The fix I made was to allow users to use ssh from the plesk domains control panel (though this could be done thru the plesk command line). In particular I used ssh/bash. If you could also add code to your script to automate this during process it would be better.

The third problem was with safe mode, and turning it off, for some reason i dont know why plesk didnt respond to turining safe mode off from the control panel. So I did it manually using this method:

Create a "vhost.conf" file in "/var/www/vhosts/<DOMAIN.TLD>/conf/"

<Directory /var/www/vhosts/<DOMAIN.TLD>/httpdocs>
php_admin_value safe_mode off
php_admin_value open_basedir none
</Directory>

Rebuild the domain configs for the particular host via:


/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -u --vhost-name=<DOMAIN.TLD>

or rebuild all via:


# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -a
You can probably make scripts to fix the items i mentioned above and add them on to future versions, so it consumes less time setting up your product. Also if there was more documentation it too would be better. And please improve support I only got one email reply , saying to install gcc.  I had to find solutions myself to the other problems i mentioned.

Sir, how did you solve this problem ?
Sis you enable SSH for the domain. This is not a recommended option.
Which version of Plesk are you using ?
