 WP not downloading or installing, Ampps installed but WP download hangs (6 Replies, Read 7427 times)

1. Today I installed the current version of Ampps on Windows 7.
2. I completed the Softaculous WP install script and clicked "Install".
3. It appeared to be downloading because the circular icon was rotating.
4. However, it kept rotating for over an hour without actually downloading or installing.

Any ideas where I might have gone wrong?

Hi
Go to AMPPS installed directory --> ampps --> script -->
Rename or remove "wp" folder and try to install WordPress again.

Thanks - I tried this (removing the WP directory) last night and re-installed WP but the installation still hangs.

Any other approaches?

Hi,

Please go to script folder and check that wp zip file is downloaded or not
And if downloaded then tell me its size

Yes, in the script directory there exists the file wp.zip -- its size is 20,053KB

I found the solution--unistalled Herdprotect and now Wordpress installed perfectly!
