I want to import wordpress onto my knownhost server for a new website, but it seems like I have to purchase a premium subscription for Softaculous to be used for this import and one-time process? Is there another way?

Hi,

WordPress is not included in the Free version of Softaculous.

You will need to purchase Softaculous in order to install, upgrade, import WordPress via Softaculous.

Hi,

We do have a monthly license as well.

Also you will need the license to manage WordPress install in future i.e. upgrade, backup, restore, etc

However you can choose after a month if you would like to renew it or not.

I have a different question so let me know if I need to open a new thread...
I purchased the premium license, and installed wordpress. Though, somehow, my homepage permalink is set to: http://redbluffcommunityroom.com/wp

I wasn't expecting the "wp" to be at the end of the URL. When i visit http://redbluffcommunityroom.com I get a 404 Forbidden error.

I'd prefer to not have the "wp" at the end. Can you help with this? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You can remove the existing WordPress installation if you have not made any changes to your installation yet. Here is the guide to remote installation :
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/How_to_remove_a_installation

Once you have removed the installation you need to install WordPress again but make sure you leave the "In Directory" field blank on the install form. This will install WordPress to your domain directly instead of installing it in a sub directory "/wp".
