We just started using Softaculous. We also use Installatron at http://installatron.com on our cPanel servers.

One nice feature of Installatron that I could not find in Softaculous is the ability to upgrade any old installed scripts to the newest version.

I notice with Softaculous you can only send an email to customers who are using old versions. We have found that 90% of our customers never upgrade even after sending them multiple email notices.

So, we do the upgrades for them from WHM > Installatron. You just select the old installs and click Upgrade. It then brings you through a process of backing up and doing the upgrade for each.

It is absolutely necessary to keep most of the scripts you offer up-to-date to protect the security of the servers. We have found that doing the global upgrades for our customers reduces the changes of their sites getting hacked.

Is this feature available in Softaculous? If not are there any plans to add this feature. Doing server-wide upgrades takes us minutes instead of days or weeks.

Sir, at the moment we havent planned this feature (I mean technically)
We have it in the TO DO list and soon we will make a deeper study for the same.

Had I known that the system does NOT do upgrades of what it installs, I never would have bought it.

What is the point of being able to "import"software from Fantastico?  Fantastico does application upgrades whereas Softaculous does not.

Softaculous can upgrade scripts.

SugarCRM in a user.  The version installed was 6.0.1 and the current version is 6.0.3  (see attached screenshot).

Also see the screenshot of all of the outdated installations on my server.

I have never seen an upgrade option since Softaculous was installed.

I'm actually referring to server-wide upgrades of any outdated scripts in Softaculous.

With Installatron I can upgrade all old scripts from within WHM > Installatron > Installed Scripts > select all outdated scripts > Upgrade

It would be nice if this feature was available for Softaculous.

The only way to upgrade scripts now with Softaculous is to login to each site's cPanel that has an out-dated script and upgrade from Softaculous from there. It literally takes days to do this for all of our servers.

We have since removed all installs from Softaculous and imported them into Installatron since we can do server-wide upgrades from WHM > Installatron.

I opened a support ticket over a year ago and your techs said they would include this in future versions but it is still not available.

It is absolutely mandatory to keep most open source scripts up-to-date with the newest version and 90% of our customers don't keep up with upgrades... even after informing them.

This is why we handle all core upgrades for them. Installatron has made this a breeze while it takes days to accomplish this with Softaculous.

It would be VERY helpful if we could do server-wide upgrades of all outdated scripts in Softaculous from within WHM > Softaculous and not have to login to each sites' cPanel.

Also your SYNC feature does not work with Installatron.

Hi,

We will try to get this added in th next version. But you must understand that this will not be possible for all scripts.
Also what error are you getting with the sync ?
