I have uncovered the Softaculous does not fully work with Hsphere. It turns out that on Hsphere one control panel user can have multiple accounts. Softaculous works on the first account, but does not work on any of the additional accounts.
This is because each additional account has a UNIX username that is sequenced by a number. For example, assuming a user called "softy" has 3 accounts, they would be represented at the UNIX user level as:
softy
softy0
softy1
Apparently, Softaculous uses the UNIX username to determine the mysql database name prefix. This causes a problem since all database names are prefixed by the username (i.e. "softy"). Softaculous does not understand this and then fails.
The Softaculous team is aware of this problem because I opened a trouble ticket. BUT, for some reason the moment they discovered this bug, they have simply stopped communicating with me. I have sent multiple requests for an update, but they simply ignore them. It is very frustrating. I hope someone at Softaculous reads and follows up to this post. Ticket #219503.
