I have a droplet on Digital Ocean running Ubuntu 12.04LTS. I have installed Webuzo on it but I'm not sure what to put in the nameserver field on Webuzo on the first installation screen.

My domain is registered at name.com. Do I just create an A record pointing to my droplet's IP and not input anything in the Webuzo nameserver field and just fill in the primary domain?

Btw, I searched the forums and found some threads talking about similar issues but I still did not understand.

Hi,

Sir you can use dummy nameservers if you are not aware of your nameservers.

You can later update your nameservers from the Webuzo Admin Panel.
Guide : http://webuzo.com/wiki/Manage_NameServers

Hope it helps \m/

Hi, I am still confused about name servers too! I have always used shared hosting and never had a problem setting name servers right but I have just signed up for a VPS with Webuzo control panel and I am not able to get my domain online.

My domain www.mydomain.co is registered with GoDaddy.

On setting up Webuzo I entered the following:

IP: IP of my VPS
Principle domain: mydomain.co
NS1: ns1.mydomain.co
NS2: ns2.mydomain.co

I then went to Godaddy and changed the name servers from the defaults to:
NS1: ns1.mydomain.co
NS2: ns2.mydomain.co

After about 10 minutes I get an email from Godaddy saying:
Error: Name server pending addition is not registered.

I have rebooted the VPS and repeated the process a few times, but same error message.

Any ideas?

My domain www.mydomain.co is registered with GoDaddy.

Add an A record for the domain pointing to the Webuzo server IP.

Hope it helps \m/

Valley,
thanks for the reply.

On godaddy I have set an A record "@" to the VPS server IP. After that I change the name servers for the domain, but I still receive a message saying:

"Error: Name server pending addition is not registered:"

I did the same for a domain that is registered in the UK with 123-reg and that domain is not resolving through either so I am guessing something is set up wrong with my VPS, but I have no idea what.

This discussion about Personal Name Server are very interesting and me as you haven't alredy understand well how to use personal Name Server.

Maybe a screenshot or webpage with exapme of correct A record created for Name Server can help.

My VPS for example have only one IP but Name Server are two.

Record A how have to be?
Maybe you must have 2 IP Address?

It's not easy - not only for you.

Sir webuzo does not register the nameservers. You have to register it with the Godaddy only. Webuzo just use the nameservers you provide.

I am a newbie here but as per my suggestion firstly go to your godaddy control panel and create cname using your ip (i.e. ns1.mydomain.co in in cname IP Address and ns2.mydomain.co in in cname another IP Address). Then add it in webuzo dns setting as A record.

Thank for all the help. The problem is fixed now.

I had the name servers set up right. The missing step, as some of you suggested was the "host name" setting.

On the GoDaddy domain control panel the host name is not set in the DNS settings, there is a separate item called "Host Name". Here I had to enter my server IP address and everything worked.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
