Topic : CMS of choice

Hey guys, I know this question has probably been asked so many times now but am wondering what people's CMS of choice were here? I'm still debating between the usual joomla/drupal/wordpress but maybe there is something else I should consider?

I am setting up an alumni website for my college for the NYC chapter. Pretty much just need a decent looking layout that I can customize (make purple, add my own logo), have it easy to be able to update events, and add photos/videos. Also was thinking of an espn style poll/questionaire where people can come and make predictions on this week's cfb games and whomever gets the most right will win something offline (maybe be able to link this with facebook as well)

Just wanted to gauge everyone's preferences here so I can do more research. Much appreciated!

Have you consider Symphony CMS? It is very easy and highly customizable so you will have a better control and least learning curve to manage your CMS, as a bonus, Symphony CMS make it extremely easy to backup the database and all Symphony files as a ZIP file in a click!

I have plenty of opportunity to choose Wordpress/Drupal/Joomla until I found XSLT is indeed more interesting which allow to transform your contents in any way you want than learning PHP (P.S. I'm a web developer and have always to quit writing anymore MySQL and PHP code, therefore, Symphony make it easy to store and retrieve by XML) and take it further with Extensions.

Should you have any question, ask in Symphony Discuss and probably try it out to see the real magic. Other choice is Umbraco CMS.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. We will review it and add it if possible.
However, Umbraco CMS is written in .NET hence we will not be able to add it.
