Hi all. Hope you all are doing well today.
I really love Webuzo and would like to 'report' (I feel the word 'notify' is more suitable for this situation) something weird.

After using Webuzo 2.1.6, the services in my VPS often stopped unexpectedly. Few services which failed to start are PHP-FPM and NGINX (yes I didn't use Apache).
It stopped almost daily and I have to start it manually.

I have done basic testing such as:
- restarting Webuzo by using "service webuzo restart" and webuzo restarted nicely as expected but Nginx and PHP-FPM will be back at their last condition. If it is stopped then it would reamain stopped while webuzo restart. If it is running while webuzo restarted, ti will run nicely too.
- Sometime starting nginx and php-fpm via "Webuzo service panel" is not possible. However, "restarting" it seems working nicely.

I have no idea why both Nginx and Php-FPM stopped working after more than 24 hours. I think it maybe have something to do with the traffic or server configuration.
While looking at the traffic (including bots/other access), it seems my site only get lower traffic. Plus, I look at the hits, resources consumption, any in/out traffic and it looks the services (nginx and php-FPM) 'die' not because of the traffic.
I was thinking maybe it is server issue or has something to do with the OS.
I have re-installed both webuzo and Centos (32 and 64, I tried both of them) and the problem persist.

I didn't think it is a bug but I think writing in 'Bug' section is more suitable than in 'support' forum . (I was thinking support forum is only if the user need "support"). Just sharing my experience while using the latest webuzo on production sites.

I was thinking using cronjob to start both services (nginx and php-fpm) is good idea but then I think it is better to notify staff about my experience.

By the way, I see the demo (http://demo.webuzo.com/enduser/) return an error: "HTTP Error 503: The requested service is unavailable"
Yes, that is what I got every time WebServer stopped working (both nginx and php-fpm failed to start but Webuzo is still running fine).
The reason why I write this is because I think the staff may aware about Nginx or other service stopped unexpectedly almost daily.
If anyone using Webuzo and didn't get teh error maybe there is something wrong with my VPS/server. If that is what was happen, just ignore this thread. :)

What do the NGINX and PHP-FPM logs have to say ?
They might help you trace the cause for the services to fail every 24 hours.

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the log file:
  1. NginX at "/usr/local/apps/nginx/var/log/error.log" and there is no error at all (no information at all/ empty file)
  2. NginX at "/usr/local/apps/nginx/var/error_log" and it print usual activity visible in 'WebServer log' file
However, while looking at "/usr/local/apps/php54/var/log/php-fpm.log", I get this information:
Quote

Service in Webuzo down again (about twenty hour after it started working correctly). At this time, three services were stopped:
  1. NginX
  2. PHP-FPM
  3. Pure-FTPD

I have setup cronjob to start a script that will 'start' both NginX and PHP-FPM if it stopped by anything. However, the script unable to 'start' both PHP-FPM and NginX'. The strange thing is even starting it via Webuzo Control Panel or root is not possible. However, 'Restart" it via Webuzo and Root work flawlessly.

While logging in Root, I use this command: "service --status--all" and here is the result:

I saw there are two PHP-FPM and NginX PID in the log above (i have no idea it is normal or not) but I use default config for NginX with only one Worker Process.
Most o the times, the log in Webuzo Panel (WebServer log) said "NginX PID is XX" but when I checked it via root it was "YX". As an example, Webuzo panel said in Webserver log if NginX PID is 17101 but when I checked via root it says NginX with PID 1700. Another PID (look nGinX PID above), 626 is not even listed in webserver log.

About Pure-FTP stopped working correctly, I have no idea about it but if we look at the log above, status of the Pure-FTP is "Unknown job". Maybe this is what cause the trouble (just my assumption).
By the way, checking the status of Pure-FTPD via root is not possible when it is under "unknown job".

I see the first log is somewhat hard to read. I couldn't edit my post above as I cannot find 'EDIT' menu.
I hope it readable for anyone.

Anyone know where is the edit button? :)

If it is possible, you may want to check the demo to find out whether the CSF and LFD were started successfully or not.

While looking at the log provided above, Do you think CSF and LFD is running smoothly? Is it actually started or stopped?. I install CSF via Webuzo APPS panel.

I was thinking maybe (just maybe) CSF and LFD were not working correctly (partially or at all).

Did you resolve your problem? It happened to me before.

Here's what I did.

I installled PHP 5.5
Deleted PHP 5.3
Installed apache.
Uninstalled apache.

Error:
Code

ERROR: unable to bind listening socket for address '127.0.0.1:9000': Address already in use

Run these commands as root:

fuser -k 80/tcp
service nginx start

How to automatically start nginx on reboot:

chkconfig nginx on

After performing the steps above, go to services and restart all the running processes.

Reboot your server and check all your services.

I was experiencing the same issue and followed your steps and it seems to have solved my problem with Nginx

Thank you for posting your solution

Restart Webuzo as follows

Root > service webuzo restart

Restart the services from the Webuzo Panel

Hope this helps :)

Unfortunately that didn't work. I restart the service, restart the VPS still can't access the IP. What an expensive experience, I cleaned up the entire VPS, reinstall webuzo and reinput my articles in wordpress. A real expensive experience

Restarting the webuzo service should get the webuzo panel up and running, and restarting the services gets the sites up and running.
Re-installing the server is not the solution, you can re-install(remove and install) the system applications instead.

http://webuzo.com/wiki/Restart_services

You can provide the steps to replicate the issue and we shall debug and resolve it ASAP.
