Fatal error: Call to undefined function iconv_get_encoding() in lib/Zend/Validate/Hostname.php on line 520


Magento versions 1.8 and 1.9

AMPPS Control Center -> PHP Tab -> PHP Extensions  ctype.so

Mac OSX 10.6.8

All other installs such as wordpress working.

Any one have a fix for this... Love the software otherwise.... simple and intuitive...

Hi,

Please enable the iconv extension(AMPPS Control Center -> PHP Tab -> PHP Extensions  iconv.so).

Let us know if you still facing the problem.

Super it worked thanks....

Though an issue remains.. I need to create a mysql db containing sample data.. and when creating a magento instance i cannot use that db containing the sample data
