Hi,
I was wondering how you would about installing a 3rd party application on the server that I am availing of as I was informed that it was possible with Webuzo servers.

Thanks for your time.

It's a jabber service, Openfire

Is there any particular method of uploading the application to the server?

I am using the .rpm version of the installer and following the installation instructions that they have on their site but I still get the following error:

error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (Permission denied)

Sir you need to be logged in as "root" user to be able to execute the command.

I don't believe I was given any details for logging in as the root user, and when I try the username as root and the password I received it denies access to the server.

Hi,

Sir you need to be a root user so as to be able to install the third-party application. You can ask your VPS provider to provide you the root details of your server.

Ok thank you for your help so far, I've managed to upload and install the application.

But now I must complete the installation via a web setup tool.

It says that it runs on port 9090 but when I try to load the page with the IP and port numbers it cannot find the page.

How can I access the 9090 port remotely to complete the setup?

Hi,

Sir is the service running and listening to the port 9090 ?

You can check it using the following command :
Code
Root > lsof -i :9090
