Topic : Installing an already-online Joomla Website

Hello fine gentlemen,

first, let me congratulate you on this awesome piece of software. Really looking forward using it.

However, before the fun starts I need it to work with the website.

I already run a installation online and want to edit it offline. However, I do not know what would be the best way to do it. Should I copy the /joomla/-folder from my website? That would leave the database useless.

So ... how?

Regards,

Lammy

Hi,

Please copy the joomla folder to your localhost and import the database on your localhost and change the configuration.php in the joomla folder to match the database details .

And then you can use the "Import" feature of Softaculous AMPPS, follow this wiki

http://ampps.com/wiki/How_to_Import_an_Installation

Example is of WordPress you can do the same for Joomla.
