We have been testing Virtualizor for about a week and I have a few questions and comments. Let me preface the following by saying we really like Virtualizor and want to use it. Installation was simple, setup was easy, over all a great experience. Nevertheless...

We need Full Virtualization for our clients legal requirements, so we've been testing KVM and Xen. KVM would be our first choice, however Xen-HVM would also do fine.

Overall the interface on the Admin side is excellent, however on the User side it is lacking. Specifically, it is lacking Graphs to show usage (RAM, Disc, Bandwidth...). As a VPS user I would be confused as to where this is, as it is one of the main reasons I would log in after my (whatever-I'm-building) is setup. Of course it's not critical if the user is installing a panel, such as Webmin, but not everyone wants to, or would know what to do in the Control Panel. I want my customers to have easy access to information such as usage so if their VPS is "full" or "slow" they know to upgrade, and don't just open a ticket to complain.

Assuming the User finds the Monitoring button in Virtualizor, he/she can get a popup window that doesn't seem to work for KVM. I saw in another thread you're working on that, but it was from many months ago. So:
Q1: Is KVM monitoring still non-functional?...or did we not set it up right? (Also if it's not working right now, is there an ETA on when it might be?)
Q2: Could you add a new Manage VPS theme page that shows graphs? (...at least add it to the to-do list?)

We also tested XenServer but didn't get as far into it, so:
Q3: Is XenServer or Xen-HVM monitoring functional? (I didn't check, and we scrapped the install because of :)
Q4: Are you working on the Backup Server function for XenServer? (Any ETA?)

On a related note:
I saw on your site that Windows ISOs are available.
Q5: From where? Do we open a ticket? (We're not actually interested in Windows, but :)
Q6: Do you also have any BSD ISOs or IMGs?

Thanks to anyone (staff or other user) that can answer any of these questions.

Sir, KVM will not support monitoring of resources from the Outside. Its kind of not possible to know how the resources are being used up within a VPS.
As an Admin you can see what is the resource usage from the Nodes perspective. But its not sensible to show that to the user.
Only OpenVZ supports the resource usage monitoring in a VPS.

>> Q2: Could you add a new Manage VPS theme page that shows graphs? (...at least add it to the to-do list?)

Themes are customizable and we are making a new theme soon for the enduser section.

>> Q3: Is XenServer or Xen-HVM monitoring functional? (I didn't check, and we scrapped the install because of :)

Same as answer to Q1. Admin stats cannot be shown to the user of a VPS. Inside a VPS its not possible to detect.

Q4: Are you working on the Backup Server function for XenServer? (Any ETA?)

Its already supported.

>> Q6: Do you also have any BSD ISOs or IMGs?

We can make one if need be.

Alons

Thanks for the very quick response Alons.

I guess I haven't used a VPS without a panel for some time. I have used many KVM and Xen cloud instances and never noticed that there wasn't any graphs of usage. I just checks a couple cloud providers I use for PowerDNS boxes and see that there is no usage stats. Sorry about Q1 & Q3.

We have been making a theme for Vitualizor and let me say it's a great system. Q2 was more about the missing usage graphs. We won't be using OpenVZ, but if the theme is the same for OpenVZ I would still recommend a default theme with usage-graphs. Two follow up questions though (neither is critical):

Q1: Where is the softfooter code? Is it encoded because we couldn't find it. We wanted to pull out the "Page Created In:0.xxx".

Q2: When we pulled the "Choose Theme" option from the "User Settings" page, we couldn't edit the page, as it created a Theme not Selected error. Can this option be removed? We'll just have the one Theme.

Are you sure about the backup server on XenServer? We were just testing it a couple of days ago and it said it wasn't supported for XenServer yet. Ultimatey it doesn't matter to me as we'll stick with the KVM, it's been working fantastic!

Regarding the ISOs: a depository for Windows and BSD that could pull automatically like your Templates would be optimum. If you are willing to take some requests we'd like FreeBSD, if possible OpenBSD. We also have some student customers that have requested: CoreOS, Gentoo, and Arch Linux (in order of popularity) so if you're looking for a few more Linux Distros to consider...

Either way, thanks for the rapid response, and the great panel.

I am also looking for this feature.  I find it very strange that some of the so called cloud self managed VM do have CPU usage on users panel, such as DO and vultr.
