Hi,

I used Softaculous to setup PrestaShop on my new web hosting environment today. I created a new PrestaShop instance to use "abc.com.au" (for example) and later went into Softaculous "Edit Installation Details" to change the URL to "test.abc.com.au". However the change does not work. I checked the MySQL database and it still has reference to "abc.com.au".

Could there be a bug in Softaculous "Edit Installation Details"?

Thanks,
Michael.

Hi,

The Edit Installation utility in Softaculous will only update Softaculous records.

You can use the Clone functionality to Clone your site to another sub domain or addon domain :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/Clone

Hi Brijesh,

That means I can use http://www.softaculous.com/docs/Clone to move from sub-domain "test.abc.com.au" to the domain "abc.com.au"? I guess the clone function would preserve everything in "test.abc.com.au" right?

Thanks,
Michael.

Hi,

Yes you can clone your installation from your sub-domain "test.abc.com.au' to the main domain "abc.com.au" only if both the domains are hosted on the same server.

The clone shall preserve everything as it is.

Please let us know if you need any further information.
