 Renaming domain adress, How to rename temporarily IP-adress into real domain adress (5 Replies, Read 1993 times)

I have installed Word Press using Softaculous.  When installing I used temporarily IP -adress (XXX://37.187.171.4/~domainname/) because the real one was in use.

Now I´ve changed nameservers poin into ´domainname´.  It works, but the temporary IP -adress still shows in browser´s name area.  How to change it?

There are not such setting in Word Press´s "Settings" -> URL (though it should be)

Please, HELP!

Hi,

Can you check if you have made the following changes:

1. Update the database the following in the wp_options table in your new database:
a. siteurl
b. home

2. In each post in the wp_posts table in your new database if the URL exists.

3. Go to the edit installation page in Softaculous and edit the URL.

I made these changes.  I did update the wp_options -tables (I have installed multisite) apq_options and apq_2_options

a. siteurl
b. home

and I´ve changed each posts in the apq_posts and apq_2_posts table

Then I changed settings in Softaculous

Now when I try to go into page (aurinkomajat.fi btw), it shows HTTP 500 error.  Chrome says "database connection error" (or something equal in finnish language).

Hope You can help with this problem...
