Hello all,
I've installed Ubuntu 14.04 64bit with Webuzo Control Panel from a template offered by my VPS provider. Once the system is completely running properly I browse to the installation script and enter the information for the base user, domain, password, email, etc... When I submit those details and the actual installation begins, I wait for a period of time that's longer than my previous installations, and then I get the following message:

There was an error extracting the package - - PHP 5.6 - php56-x86_64.tar.gz
There was an error extracting the package - - PHP 5.6 - php56-x86_64.tar.gz

Unfortunately, I am very limited in the applications available on the command line because the image my provider is using is pretty minimal. They tend to ask me to rebuild the server from scratch and not modify the system at all when issuing a support ticket. So, that's where we're at.

Can anyone assist me with this error?

*bump*. I am troubled by this because I have already been dealing with a provider side issue regarding the initial setup of Webuzo that has involved around 10-12 emails back and forth. Now I finally get access to the final installer web script, and I get this error.

Surely someone has had a similar issue with errors extracting packages....

Update (mainly for people searching about this or similar errors):
Support answered my ticket, letting me know that php 5.6 is for premium licenses and that I should be able to install php 5.5 on the free license.

I responded, letting them know that I can't continue the installer at all, even after installing the php5-common package in my system via apt. I'm awaiting their response regarding this, since I should be able to get the installer to complete the install without php 5.6.

Hi,

Sir it seems that the Template image of your hosting provider was stored with the PHP 5.6 as default PHP in the installer ! so you are stuck there if you are not using the Premium version.

Please dont install PHP via APT otherwise it may conflict with the PHP provider.

I suggest that you dont use the Template image and start a fresh installation.
