 Fresh Install AMPPS / MySQL does not work (4 Replies, Read 4545 times)

Hello,

I've installed the latest version of ampps (3.6) and the Apache and also PHP 5.3 is running. Unfortunately the MySQL does not work. No idea why....
A little help would be really appreciated:


1. mac OS 10.12.3

2. AMPPS Version 3.6

I had a similar issue when my machine had MySQL already running. I had to quit the OS version before Ampps could start. https://coolestguidesontheplanet.com/start-stop-mysql-from-the-command-line-terminal-osx-linux/

I also had a similar issue.  I had installed odoo and it installed postGre SQL.  That SQL engine prevented the AMPSS MySQL engine from starting.  I had to uninstall odoo to stop the postGre SQL engine from starting at system startup.

To stop MySQL try this:

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqladmin -u root -p shutdown

Or:

sudo mysqld stop

Or:

sudo /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld stop

Or:

sudo mysql.server stop

If you install the Launchctl in OSX, you can try:

MacPorts:

sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mysql.plist
Note: this is persistent after reboot.

Homebrew:

launchctl unload -w ~/Library/LaunchAgents/homebrew.mxcl.mysql.plist

Binary installer:

sudo /Library/StartupItems/MySQLCOM/MySQLCOM stop

Since I was installed on a Windows 10 computer I used Task Manager to terminate the offending postgresql process.
