Just got a new VPS, coming from a Dedicated Server. I currently had used Plesk CP and had no issues with apache ever giving up, But had problems with plesk causing higher load than need be as well as my old provider have a low port speed (150mbps) with an occasional burst. But I was always saturating it due to traffic.

I average about 30k visitors a day. I run several other sites but my 2 high traffic sites one is just a simple PHP directory listing and the other is a small File Host, which mainly I use just to simply easily upload and provide a link to someone when needed.

So I thought I`d go back to Webzuo its free its simple and its pretty stable, besides my issue with Apache.

VSP Specs: Hefty 8 Core CPU, 16GB ram, 16 GB Swap, 1TB HD. Along with about 700GB worth of public files / downloads.

Problem Below:

So I host files for phone development 1GB + files and have high traffic, But Im not sure where to start with apache on setting it up to where I dont have to randomly restart apache to get my sites working again.

Sites will be speedy and fine, and then the next min wont load at all and I have to reboot apache to fix anything, During the time sites dont load theres still a good amount of traffic going on sometimes around 200mbps-300mbps. But sites don`t load. I have tweaked a few small apache settings but still nothing.

Any Suggestions? I would run Nginx, BUT that other site does not support it. And reverse proxy config tutorials seems confusing as since Webuzo already has an installer for them.

Besides putting the other site on a server if I cant fix apache problems is there a way to make all sites but that one run on Nginx? and have that one run o on apache?

Sorry if My post comes off a little confusing Ive been dealing with this for 14 days now, and need this fixed.

Thank you :)

Did you find the reason for the crash of Apache server ? The logs would speak of it.

You can have the 2 services running. You will have to tweak things manually... Like to run it on different ports...And your own controller to keep the service up and running.

I recommend, you tweak the Apache config to optimize it.

Already checked logs.. No error or crash...  It just bogs down and never recovers.

I've already tweaks Apache with some high settings! It was up for about 30 hours (finally!!) then this morning had to reboot.

Apache 2.2 causes higher than normal load. But Apache 2.4 has hard any load at all but stops working /bogs down faster with same settings

You will have to closely monitor when it crashes. Maybe the resources consumption be at its peak when the issue occurs.
