Issues Upgrading Magento Installations, Some admin functions not available when upgrading (2 Replies, Read 3144 times)

I've done some test upgrades of Magento from 1.7.0.2.  While the installation reports as successful, when upgrading to either 1.8.1.0 or 1.9.0.1, the administrative control panel has issues.  Specifically, selecting anything under System > Configuration, either through a direct link or through the menu results in a completely blank white screen (the page source is a completely empty file).

I was able to replicate this with a clean install of 1.7.0.2, verifying the admin functions worked, then immediately upgrading to 1.9.0.1 (making no changes in 1.7.0.2, so this was a clean install).  If I do a clean install of 1.9.0.1, the administrative functions work perfectly fine.  This appears to only impact upgrades of existing installs.
