Anybody following the news will have read about the bash 'shellshock' bug which leaves many machines (mostly webservers) vulnerable to code injection attacks.

Does running Ampps pose a risk?

I can't find the setting in one of the ampps control panels which allows or disallows local/remote acces to the apache server included in Ampps.

Simply update the bash package on your server and you are good to go.

On CentOS
Root > yum update bash

Hope it helps :)

Unfortunately I don't know what to do with your answer.

First, the question is: is the ampps server reachable from outside my computer? If it is not reachable, there's also little risk in the first place because even if the bash version is vulnerable, there's no outside access to it.

Second, I don't know what 'root > yum update bash' means.
