Topic : Stupid AMPPS window mac

I'm curious if there is a way to get rid of that annoying AMPPS window and dock icon, it's running in my menubar so there is no real need for it to be open in the background... When I try to close it, it stops the servers which i don't want so i'm currently stuck with having a pointles window open and another icon in my dock

Hi,

Currently you don't have any option to hide the window. But we will surely think about hiding the window from next version.

Sweeet  :D , I just switched from MAMP to AMPPS and it's probably the best thing I've ever done :P , your program is a lot smoother and runs a lot better, well done!!!

Did you ever integrate this? I see this post is from 2012. I would appreciate being able to hide the window as well, but I'm unable to find an option to do so.

First i want to give a BIG thanks to softaculous for AMPPS!

I am not 100% sure if this is enough for you, but this is my way to hide the AMPPS Window:

My Setup: OS X 10.9.3 (Mavericks) &  AMPPS 2.3

1. Open AMPPS
2. Click the red close Button
-> AMPPS will ask you: "Are you sure you want to quit AMPPS?"
3. press ESC
4. Window is gone but AMPPS is still running. And the window is coming back when you focus the App through CMD+TAB or by clicking the dock icon.

----------------------

If you want to start AMPPS without a dock Icon, do this: http://www.cnet.com/news/prevent-an-applications-dock-icons-from-showing-in-os-x/

I am not sure why, but the two things are not working together + this solution is not Update-Safe!

You can hide AMPPS window. Click on the minimize button and it will hide AMPPS GUI window but you will see AMPPS icon in your dock till AMPPS application is running.

Yes, I realize you can hide it manually. But it still reappears upon every restart and sometimes after making any settings changes, etc. Other Mac applications that have icons in the menubar generally don't launch a window unless you specifically ask for it. It's not a big deal, just an annoyance, but one that seems like it wouldn't be a big deal to take care of.
