Hi
Testing several installs now, and I see the suggested databases names for Typo3, Drupal, Sugarcrm etc, are kept very short. As they are prefilled one can only add a single number to their names, for ex here drupal1. What will happen when our clients take the same DB name as an existing install ? Thanks.

cannot be greater than 7 letters. Please choose a shorter database name."

hi dsaunier,
If they happen to take the same database name softaculous will warn them automatically that the database name already exists and the installation will stop there itself.

regards,

Any support on this?
I am a paying customer and my MySQL's are all more than 7 letters.
Who can I talk to for a work around for this issue as it is not an acceptable method of user installs.

I am now taking support more calls from my clients and my scritpaculous is down due to this issue as all my MySQL's are over 7 letters.

please advise and contact me asap.

Hi,

Softaculous suggests DB Names as per the user accounts name. It will still curtail it to a max of 7 chars.

Regards,
Alons

Hi,

That will not be possible.
A new DB needs to be created.
