Why does magento install to a folder named mydomain.com/index.php/

is there a way to edit this path?  I cleared the dir field during install but still get this format.

Hi,

Sir if it is installed here:
mydomain.com/index.php/

It means that it is installed in root.
If you left the Directory field blank while installing then it should install on the root domain.

I left it blank.  I can upload screen shots if you want?  I have tried several times.

Hi,

The index.php/ does not mean its a folder.
Its a way for clean URL.
