I have a published site built and hosted by Moonfruit using their proprietry software 'sitemakerlive'. I am transferring registration and hosting to UnitedHosting and have set up an account with United.

I want to rebuild the site in WP 3.3.1 and successfully installed WP in cPanel at United. When I click on the link to go to the Wp installation, instead it links to my current published website with which I can do nothing, except look at it like any other visitor to the site!  ( I assume this is because I am forced in the softaculous installation process to give a name of the domain I wish to build, and United automatically insert the name of my published domain as the only option.

I believe that if I did not have an existing website built for my domain, I would click on the link and get taken to WP-Admin Login for the new barebones WP site just created, which is what should happen.?

To get around this problem, I set up a new subdomain  and called it www.test.mydomain.com  )( I used my own existing domain name ) and again  the Wp installation was successful but when I click on the link to go the WP-admin for this, it says Page cannot be found.

Is the only way I am going to rebuild my site in WP 3.3.1, is to shut it down completely at Moonfruit ( which will happen anyway upon transfer of the domain as the site remains their property!) so that when I install WP 3.3.1 again using softaculous, there will be no existing site and so I will arrive at a brand new barbones WP site which I can then populate with the contecnt form my existing site?
