Hello,

I'm having trouble figuring out how custom templates work. Once I have a template customized under OpenVZ and using a CentOS 6 minimal install (updated and with a LEMP running) I create a custom template using that one as the source but it later installs a minimal CentOS 6 with no updates nor LEMP.

But, if I have a control panel (i.e. ISPConfig) and a couple of customs php files and I create a template from it and later use it to create a new VPS, everything gets up and running. Not perfectly as the system configs in ISPConfig (like the server's name) are kept from the old server but still...

I guess my question is... how can I create a pre-configured template that will install with everything I want and custom parameters (nameserver, IP addresses, etc)? I would like this as a new VPS with a control panel install takes too long and it's never perfect.

Thanks in advance!

Ok, guess I found something. The template I made and used for a new VPS was actually updated and the LEMP stack was installed... just not in use as Apache was restarted.

Can anyone tell me how to make a quick recipe with the following commands? That I don't have a clue on how to do:

  • /etc/init.d/httpd stop
  • chkconfig --levels 235 httpd off
  • /etc/init.d/mysqld restart
  • /etc/init.d/nginx restart

Thanks!!!!

Hi,
In the Admin Panel there is an option to create Recipe.
You can add this command and create a recipe.
After this assign it to the vps during creation. You can set in the Advanced Option.

You can also open a Support Ticket and we'll help you out there.
