I would like to ask simple question. How to add A or TXT record for the domain if the name field is blank?

For example:
I have MYDOMAIN.COM
I would like to add TXT record for MYDOMAIN.COM

The system would not allow me to create TXT record because it always ask me to fill the 'name record' (which supposed to be blank).
The same thing happen if I tried to add A record for the bare domain. As far as I know, the name field should be blank but the system didn't allow blank record.

The question would be: How to add TXT and A record for the bare domain (such as mydomain.com and not www.mydomain.com or whateveritis.mydomain.com)?

Is there any workaround for this bug?

Note: I have read the wiki page to add, edit and delete record. I even read about BIND configuration in their official page. It seems the problem is only caused by the system didn't allow blank record.

Hi,

Sir for adding @ record we have added this in our to do list and it will be implemented today only please provide your server root detail we will apply the patch for that on your server.

http://www.softaculous.com/support/

For the security purpose we are not allowing  the blank spaces, you can simply add the previous record name in the place of blank space.

Thanks for the reply.
I really appreciate your help but I am an old fashioned teacher whom prefer to do everything by myself.
If it is possible, I would like you to send the tutorial on how to apply the patch via private message.

While I am not that smart in Linux, I may able to follow any step by step on how to apply the patch for my Webuzo.

## Off Topic ##
By applying the patch with my own hand, I believe it would make me easier to help any fellow webmaster that have the same problem. I already said in previous ticket if Webuzo is quite interesting Control Panel. I am planning to translate and document it in my native language (just a plan, I have no idea on how to start and how much times it will takes). Simplicity, features and lots of apps surely would make Webuzo as a good choice for any webmaster in future. At least, that is what I think at the moment.

So what is the fix here? I am also trying to add a txt record and spf which does require the bare domain and Webuzo does not allow this. I am not sure how or why you would think this is a security issue when it is needed to help prevent our servers from sending spam. This should be an option added for the system admin to make this choice and not just eliminating it because you think it is a security risk. All other panels or dns gui's allows this. This could be the deal breaker for me.

You can manually edit the zone file of the respective domain located at /var/named to add the entry

Restart the Named service.

However, we have noted the request and shall have it implemented soon.
