"The MySQL Connection could not be established.", Can't install anything. (10 Replies, Read 21626 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 3 Status:	Hello everyone. I am trying to run a server from my laptop running Windows 7. I installed AMPPS and all services start successfully. However, I have tried to install some of the software to test it and it will not install and it gives me the MySQL connection error. All settings are default, I didn't change anything at all. I'm not sure as to what the problem could be. I'd appreciate yer help!

Yeah it is, all services are. I am on a wireless connection. To be honest, I have been having all kinds of trouble with making my laptop a server, I suspect it might be the wireless connection? Is it any different than the wired one? Cos I have some experience with wired ones, but not with wireless when it comes to this kind of thing.

I uninstalled XAMPP which was using MySQL it seems, even though it wasn't running. Thank you. Could you please tell me how to make my server accessible externally? I have already forwarded my port 80, but I do not know what settings to change to make my site available externally. I do know my URL has to be my WAN IP, but I don't know how to set it up in AMPPS. Thank you again.
