 Wordpress Takes Too Much Space, Language files should not be included by default (6 Replies, Read 6476 times)

It seems that all language files are being included by default.
This takes too much space than normal Wordpress installations.
A normal installation is usually 10MB+
but with language files, it becomes 35MB+

It becomes a problem when 1000s of users install Wordpress on the server
as it easily adds-up on on unnecessary disk space usage.

Would it be possible to not include all language at once?

You can add Custom Scripts to Softaculous. All you do is upload your scripts to /var/softaculous/scriptname

After that, view Softaculous as root then click the following: Software >> Custom Scripts.

Make sure that you disable the default Word Press after that.

Hi,

We had several clients demanding the language option for WordPress so we have included this option for choosing the language. We have not included all the languages only the required ones.

However I am not that technical, is there a tutorial on how to do this?

Hi,

We have improved the WordPress package and now the installation will not contain all the language files. It will contain only the language files required for that particular language.
So the installation size will be around 10MB (which is the default size of the package)
