I'm having a similar issue. I can't create a database. Get "cannot
connect. Invalid Settings" when I click on Create a Database in AMPPS
home page. Where are the settings I need to update?

I've corrected the PHP date.timezone problem but php pages aren't displaying either. Please help!

Hi,

Open terminal go to /ampps/mysql directory and run ./mysql -u root -p
and then enter your password and see it is connecting or not.

That did it for me! To be more specific, the Terminal command is /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysql -u root -p (enter) pw is either blank or mysql.

Also, in the past I had touble seeing all of my databases, some of which were added through Terminal and some added through phpMyAdmin, with Dreamweaver database connections made through cold fusion or php. I wonder if I'd logged into Mysql as root whether I would have been able to see them all. I was thinking I had two versions of Mysql installed, so I removed my old version of Mysql and MAMP and installed AMPPS. I lost all of the databases, of course. But it's nice to know that I can now see them in Terminal regardless of how they were created.

Thanks for your help.
