<![CDATA[Ampps localhost wordpress installation]]> production site and have it up and running locally. Everything works great on localhost.

But I can't seem to access the server from across my local network. The weird thing is that I am getting partial access (see attached screen shot).

I have created a domain called and my local IP is When I go to from another device on the network I get a progress bar for several minutes — yes minutes — and then the server will eventually return some information from the WordPress site but not the expected full page (again, see screen shot).

I have played with the /etc/hosts file and tried my hand at a version of the httpd-vhosts.conf files (as explained in other posts) but to no avail. What else can I do to access my web server across my local network?

Does your Softaculous script package have to be hosted on your Hosting platform or on the hosting platform of an accredited NOC Partner Platform?
We do not provide hosting so you need to find a host which offers Softaculous and you can install the script via Softaculous and host it on their servers.

Do we own the scripts in whole/outright?

The scripts are Open source and Free so once you install it you can modify it as per your use.

Or must they be used within your service coverage and holdings?
No there is no restriction of usage.

WHAT IS A License? To use 1 script code? Or one Server? Or both? That's a main questions we have.
When you install Softaculous on a server you need to purchase license for that server. So yes the license is per server. Once the license is purchased for a server, Softaculous will be available on all the control panel accounts on that server.

Of the topic but Adding Ruby will make Ammps my number 1 dev tool.

Thank you for the suggestion.

We will discuss this with our development team and see if we can add Ruby in AMPPS soon.

Hi friends, can't find the backup option and i need that to make my backups for safety! anyone can help me on that?

Very thankz;))

It seems your web host has disabled backups and restore option in Softaculous on your server. You will need to confirm with them if they have disabled it for a reason.

Some hosts disable it if they perform serverwide backups using some other backup utility.

<![CDATA[Password - MySQL database]]>
Quote From : emaloi March 21, 2017, 4:45 pm
Thank you guys,

I found the database password by following these instructions:

However, if you use this code to connect to the database, it gives me an error... how is that possible?

$config = parse_ini_file('/config.ini');

// Connect to database

    $mysqli = new mysqli($config['servername'], $config['username'], $config['password'], $config['dbname']);

    printf("\n ".date("Y-m-d h:i:sa") . " - Establishing connection to " . $config['dbname'] . " on " . $config['servername'] . ".\n");

    // Check connection

    if ($mysqli->connect_error) {

        die('Error : (' . $mysqli->connect_errno . ') ' . $mysqli->connect_error);

        printf("\n ".date("Y-m-d h:i:sa") . " - Connection failed. Returned error: " . mysqli_connect_error() . "\n");

    } else {

        printf("\n ".date("Y-m-d h:i:sa") . " - Connection successful.\n");

The error that is reported to me is this: Establishing connection to on. Error: (Access denied for user 'root' @ 'localhost' (using password: NO)) Access denied for user 'root' @ 'localhost' (using password: NO)

Anyone have any ideas? I am completely blocked ...

It seems the database login details in the config.ini is incorrect. Softaculous creates a database user separately for each user and does not use the root MySQL user. As per the error message it seems you are trying to login as the root MySQL user. You can find the database name and database user as well from the edit installation page.

Also in Moodle the database login details are stored in config.php in the path where you have installed Moodle.

<![CDATA[Database distribution]]>
Currently I'm running Lubuntu 16.10 on an older machine. I have AMPPS running on my system drive and I have 2 different, important projects/databases on that same installation.

What I would like to achieve is that each of my 2 other drives would contain it's own database so that that my 2 projects are physically separated. Not only for safety, but also to get the most out of my older setup.

How can I achieve this? Where AMPPS runs on the system drive and works with 2 additional drives, each containing a database.]]>
