i have created a WP website on my local drive. how can i get it to go live?

1. what and where are the files that i need to upload to the host?
2. which folder should i put them in?

1.You can check the path of your installation from your edit installation page under 'Info' head having 'Path' title.
2. You will have to upload all the files from this path to your host which is usually /home/USERNAME/public_html/.
You will also have to take a dump of your SQL database and restore the same on your server. You will have to manually change the path and domain details in the config files and database.

You can also use our utility to Backup an installation by following our guide here:
http://ampps.com/wiki/How_to_Backup_an_Installation

You will have to manually change the path and domain details in the config files and database created in the tar.gz created above and create a new tar.gz (with the same name).

Later you can upload the changed tar.gz onto your server in /home/USERNAME/softaculous_backups and you can restore this using our restore backup utility, the guide for which can be found here:
