{"id":4075,"date":"2020-11-26T13:30:47","date_gmt":"2020-11-26T13:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/docs\/cli\/update-softaculous-settings-from-cli\/"},"modified":"2025-01-31T12:10:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T12:10:19","slug":"update-softaculous-settings-from-cli","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/docs\/cli\/update-softaculous-settings-from-cli\/","title":{"rendered":"Update Softaculous settings from CLI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Softaculous allows you to update the settings in the universal.php from command line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert alert-info wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note&nbsp;<\/strong>: This utility has been added in Softaculous 5.6.4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use the following command to <strong>update the settings in universal.php<\/strong> :<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted php hljs\">php \/path\/to\/softaculous\/cli.php --update_universal --setting_name=1<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">E.g. for cPanel&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted php hljs\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/3rdparty\/bin\/php \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/whostmgr\/docroot\/cgi\/softaculous\/cli.php --update_universal --off_backup_au=1 --no_prefill=1<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parameters<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the above command the first parameter should be <strong>&#8211;update_universal <\/strong>as this parameter will update the universal.php<\/li><li><strong>&#8211;setting_name=Name of the setting<\/strong>, In the above example, &#8211;off_backup_au is the Backup created during Auto upgrade and &#8211;no_prefill is not to prefill the directory name with the scripts name by default and 1 is the value to disable the setting, you can pass the value accordingly which you want to save.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similarly you can enable or disable any settings by passing the setting name in the command,  you can find the settings name in the universal.php file.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":1686,"menu_order":19,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","docs_category":[],"class_list":["post-4075","docs","type-docs","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docs\/4075","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docs"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/docs"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4075"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docs\/4075\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4114,"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docs\/4075\/revisions\/4114"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docs\/1686"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4075"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"docs_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docs_category?post=4075"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
