{"id":5232,"date":"2022-07-04T10:33:29","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T10:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/docs\/cli\/enable-disable-wordpress-auto-upgrade-options-from-cli\/"},"modified":"2025-01-31T12:10:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T12:10:19","slug":"enable-disable-wordpress-auto-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/blog\/docs\/cli\/enable-disable-wordpress-auto-upgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"Enable\/Disable WordPress Auto Upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Softaculous allows you to enable\/disable auto-upgrade for WordPress core, plugins, and themes of all the existing WordPress installations on your server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert alert-info\"><strong>Note&nbsp;<\/strong>: This utility has been added in Softaculous 5.8.7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enable Auto Upgrade for WordPress Core<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the following command to enable WordPress core :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted php hljs\">php \/path\/to\/softaculous\/cli.php --enable-auto-upgrade --core<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>E.g. for cPanel\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted php hljs\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/3rdparty\/bin\/php \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/whostmgr\/docroot\/cgi\/softaculous\/cli.php --enable-auto-upgrade --core<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Disable Auto Upgrade for WordPress Core<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the following command to disable WordPress core :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted php hljs\">php \/path\/to\/softaculous\/cli.php --disable-auto-upgrade --core<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>E.g. for cPanel&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted php hljs\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/3rdparty\/bin\/php \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/whostmgr\/docroot\/cgi\/softaculous\/cli.php --disable-auto-upgrade --core<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parameters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the above command the first parameter should be <strong>&#8211;enable-auto-upgrade <\/strong>or <strong>&#8211;disable-auto-upgrade<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>&#8211;core<\/strong> &#8211;<strong> <\/strong>Here core refers to auto-upgrade of WordPress core only (Default value 0 or if you pass 1 will enable auto upgrade to <strong>major as well as minor versions <\/strong>of WordPress core)<\/li><li><strong>&#8211;core<\/strong>=2 &#8211;<strong> <\/strong>If set to 2, the auto upgrade setting for WordPress core will be set to <strong>minor versions <\/strong>only<\/li><li><strong>&#8211;plugins <\/strong>&#8211; plugins refer to auto upgrade of WordPress plugins.<\/li><li><strong>&#8211;themes <\/strong>&#8211; themes refer to auto upgrade of WordPress themes.<\/li><li><strong>&#8211;user=USERNAME <\/strong>&#8211;
