<![CDATA[Disk Resize Issue - addvs Process with "D" State]]> https://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=20479&tpg=1#p60241 We already have an email thread opened with Softaculous support but we feel we are the only ones experiencing this issue hence opening this thread for the rest of community to post their feedback.

Since maybe May or June 2025, after updating our Virtualizors to one of the stable versions released back then, we started encountering problem with creating VPSs. The error was the "disk resize failed".

We tried HUNDREDS of suggestions that Softaculous mentioned to us - even switched all our virtualizors to the so-called "new vps provisioning method". The problem exists.

We have a person working full-time for this issue as the support from Softaculous team is quite slow and this is a critical matter to us.

What we believe is happening is:

On virtualizors where we have large storage added (e.g. 8 TB SSD), and we try to create VPS with large storage (e.g. more than 1 or 2 TB), the issue immediately comes up. The "addvs" process gets hang with "D" state. So we need to restart the Virtualizor for the process to be cleaned.

Once we restart the Virtualizor, a workaround we found is that we can create a VPS with 50 GB Storage and then we edit the VPS to add additional storage.

This is is however not a proper solution for production Virtualizors.

Please share your thoughts if anyone else experiences the same.

<![CDATA[Softaculous Won’t Install WordPress on Root Domain]]> https://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=20478&tpg=1#p60240 My hosting provider, HawkHost, includes RVSiteBuilder, Softaculous, and similar tools.

I’m trying to build my website and move my existing free WordPress blog to my domain, along with adding a gallery. I first tried RVSiteBuilder but couldn't figure out how to add features or import my blog, so I switched to Softaculous.

I attempted to install WordPress through Softaculous. The first time, I installed it in a “wp” directory, which placed it at mydomain.com/wp and didn’t let me import my old blog correctly. Even after importing, my main domain still showed the default HawkHost page.

I uninstalled WordPress and tried installing it again directly on my domain, but Softaculous kept saying files already existed. No matter what I do, my domain still displays the HawkHost placeholder page instead of WordPress.

I’ve installed and uninstalled several times, tried importing in different ways, but nothing seems to work. I don’t understand why my domain still looks empty when WordPress should be installed.

Can you check if VPS interface is slaved properly to the bridge interface using command:
brctl show

Additionally, access the vps through vnc and check if IP detail is assigned properly inside the vps?

Welcome to Virtualizor Installer
To monitor installation : tail -f /root/virtualizor.log
An existing installation of Virtualizor has been detected ! If you continue to install Virtualizor, the existing installation and all its Data will be lost Do you want to continue installing ? [y/N]y
 Installing Libraries and Dependencies
Installing PHP, MySQL and Web Server /bin/ln: 无法创建符号链接'/usr/lib64/libnsl.so.1': File exists
Downloading and Installing Virtualizor - Configuring Virtualizor - Fetching License - Setting up the CRON Job - Importing Database - Getting List of OS templates - Generating the SSL Certificates
Installing the Virtualization Kernel - kvm - Default Storage (/home/vms) with format QCOW2 has been added. KVM Module has been installed

It looks like the installer detected an existing Virtualizor setup, which is why you are seeing the warning about losing all data. The /usr/lib64/libnsl.so.1 message is just indicating that the symbolic link already exists and usually does not break the installation.

If you want to preserve the existing installation, do not continue with the install over it. Otherwise, continuing will overwrite everything. You can also check the installation progress and errors in real time with:

tail -f /root/virtualizor.log

Make sure all dependencies and the KVM module are correctly installed. If you continue to get errors, it might help to remove any leftover files from the previous installation before retrying.]]>
