As far as I know automatic settings of pw and disk size is only possible with lvm disk, not qcow2 (not entirely sure about this)

Also the disk need to be a single ext3/ext4 partition, not having tmp, root, var etc. on separated partitions. I was running into the same problem once were I had  a standard partition scheme and xfs filesystem. CentOS 7
KVM
the server has 1 480 GB nvme SSD
the VMs have all only had 1 disk trying to be attached
I have Virtualizor set to try and use qcow2 which dumps the drives into /srv/vms
